Laser vision correction
This procedure allows to restore good vision and get rid of glasses and contact lenses. Laser correction can be performed for patients from 18 to 55 years old and can be helpful in the case of:
- Myopia from -1.0 to -15.0 diopters.
- Hyperopia from 1.0 to 6.0 diopters.
- Astigmatism from ± 0.5 to ± 5.0 diopters.
In any form of vision disorders the image of the surrounding objects is not focused on the retina. The essence of laser vision correction is to change the shape of the cornea so that the image focuses precisely on the retina.
Several million laser vision correction procedures are performed annually in the world. This method has proven its effectiveness and safety for more than 20 years period of observations.
Advantages of laser correction

If the patient has no contraindications laser vision correction may recover vision virtually at all types of myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.

Patients from 18 to 55 years old are good candidates for the procedure.

Special anesthetic drops are put in the eyes. They completely block pain sensitivity. Patient feels only a sense of touch and pressure at some moments.

Patient can evaluate first results of correction during 2 hours after surgery. Vision will stabilize within first week and the final recovery will come after full healing of the corneal tissue.

Shape of the cornea is preserved for life after laser vision correction. If the patient has no progressing myopia the result of operation remains for many years.
Cataract is a partial or complete opacification of lens substance leading to decrease of visual acuity.
Symptoms of cataract
- Reduced visual acuity
- Periodic return of the ability to read and to write without glasses. At the same time objects are seen unsharply and with blurred contours
- Pupil which traditionally looks black can acquire a grayish or yellowish tint
- Cataract patients may complain of feeling that the world has become some dim
- Intolerance of bright light. Better vision in cloudy weather or at dusk
- Increased vision problems at night or in low light conditions
- It seems that colors are lost. Objects may appear to be yellowed
The most modern and least traumatic way to remove the cataract is phacoemulsification and foldable lens implantation. The operation is performed on an outpatient basis. It is characterized by small incision and is considered as the “gold” standard for cataract surgery. At the same day you can come back home to normal life without significant restrictions of visual and physical activity.
Phacoemulsification can be used at initial stages of cataract development. The technique has no age restrictions.
This system is designed for the correction of myopia and hyperopia of high degree (-30 to +12).
An intraocular lens is implanted to the patient (Phakic or multifocal). This is combined with other technologies (e.g., laser vision correction).
“Optimal” system is used in cases where the effect of other methods of vision correction is limited and does not achieve the desired result.
The system provides a complete predictability of results.
The unique complex of cataract treatment

An ophthalmosurgeon receives accurate information from different systems that make up the complex. Information is collected at all stages of operation – from the incisions and ending with implantation of an intraocular lens.
Verion navigation system consists of a diagnostic module and digital markers. The diagnostic module provides high-precision diagnostics, intraocular lens calculation and operation planning. The resulting information is integrated into the operating room and the digital markers create an operation map.
Treatment of age-related long sight
The reason for the age-related farsightedness is the induration of the lens so that it is worse focused on different distances. The lens loses its elasticity and changes its curvature with less efficiency.
These changes are the natural effect of age and can occur around the age of 40.
Earlier an age-related long sight (or presbyopia) was considered incurable and the only solution was wearing glasses. However, the multifocal lenses developed by the company Alcon provide an opportunity to surgical correction of presbyopia.
Multifocal lenses are implanted in place of the lens through a minimal incision. The operation does not require hospitalization and lasts 15 minutes. The sutures should not be placed as the incision is sealed independently. Visual acuity improves in the hours after the operation. A patient can come back to normal life on the same day.
